Character Basics
Name: Gwendolyn Fox Norrington
Alias/Nicknames: Gwen, Mrs. Norrington (formerly Miss Fox), Miss Gwen
Age: 27
Appearance
Looks: Despite living in the Caribbean she is still rather fair-skinned, with blonde hair and blue eyes that sparkle (with mischief, occasionally).
She has a petite build, but is also naturally curvy. Her smile can brighten your day and her pout can break your heart.
Scars, tattoos, other marks: Two beauty marks on the right side of her face, one gun shot wound to her abdomen
Portrayed by: Natalie Dormer
Personality and Stats
Basic Personality: She was the eldest daughter of a Royal Naval Admiral which came with a rather daunting weight on
her shoulders that meant she was to always be an obedient child who respected her elders and maintained pristine
manners, as well as serving as a role model for her younger sisters. It was never a life she nor the tasks she ever
asked for but she made sure she was always a good girl. For the longest time, she was meek and demure; the picture
of the perfect young lady. However, much like her dear friend Elizabeth, her heart longed for adventure. Though her
spirit was broken several times from personal loss and acts of violence done to her person, she has remained resilient
and always seemed to bounce back, despite a few bouts of melancholy.
For the most part, Gwen is a well-rounded individual with a heart of gold who will give your the moon if she could. She
loves fiercely and is forever loyal to those who matter most in her life. Even though she wears the face of a brave
woman, Gwen still sometimes feels like nothing more than a scared child. If she were ever left alone to her own devices,
surely she would go mad as she craves love, even if she cannot, in return, give her heart as freely. All in all, she just
wants to be happy.
Occupation: A lady; wife of Admiral James Norrington
Allegiance: to her husband James, but also -- in her heart -- still to Jack Sparrow
Abilities: She can run a household, but more importantly she has learned how to handle a sword and throw knives at her target
(the latter she learned in her brother-in-law's butcher shop). However, she isn't very good in any other form of combat, unless
you consider scratching, kicking and biting to be combat. Also, she is proficient in English, Spanish and French.

History: Gwendolyn was born the eldest daughter of a well-to-do British couple, Admiral James Christopher Fox and Katherine Draper Fox.
She came to the Carribean harbor of Port Royal when she was 13 with her parents and two younger sisters, Eleanor and Frances (then 11 and 9,
respectively). At that time, their ship was a month's voyage behind the ship that was carrying Governor Swann and his daughter, Elizabeth.
Growing up in Port Royal was almost like a fairytale. It was so much different than England. The weather in the Caribbean was always warm and sunny.
Frances became close friends with Elizabeth Swann since they were the same age, while Gwendolyn and Eleanor chummed around. Gwendolyn eventually
grew into a lovely young lady and many of the soldiers wanted to one-day make her their bride.
When she turned 18, she reluctantly accepted a marriage proposal from a Lieutenant Charles Bromley. He lusted after her so much and one night, when a
fight erupted between an officer and an imprisoned pirate, Bromley came to Gwendolyn. He had wanted to have her even before their wedding night and
proceeded in raping her. Her father came home at that same time and found his daughter struggling to save her innocence but it was too late for her.
Bromley had violated her and he would pay a hefty price. Admiral Fox had Lt. Bromley stripped of his military title and banished from the island – all of
that on top of a six-month imprisonment in Port Royal's jail.
Over the next four years, more marriage proposals came for Gwendolyn, but she refused each and every one of them. Admiral Fox became very
overprotective of all of his daughter's after the incident with his eldest, and only Gwendolyn seemed to welcome it. Her sisters became angry at her
because of how strictly their father screened each potential fiancé. Luckily for Eleanor, she was able to marry within those four years. She wed a Lieutenant
Lewis Oliver. The following year, Admiral Fox retired and was replaced by Norrington. Then, the pirate Jack Sparrow saved Elizabeth Swann, attempted to kidnap
her to get away from the Red Coats, but eventually ended up in jail. Not to mention, the Black Pearl – the infamous pirate ship – came to the harbor and began
to terrorize the community one night.
Amidst the chaos, several businesses were ruined, people were killed and Elizabeth was kidnapped and taken aboard the ghastly ship. That night, both of Gwendolyn's
parents were murdered by pirates and so was Eleanor. The events that followed were almost like a blur to Gwendolyn. She and Frances buried their parents and middle
sister, then Lt. Oliver was killed by the Black Pearl's pirates during a battle about a week later. The two sisters were all alone. Their only choice to support themselves
would be marriage, but Gwendolyn still refused any man. The responsibility then rested upon Frances' shoulders and she foolishly married the first man who offered.
He was merely a butcher named Alexander Culver. Then again, Frances was always the naive one of the sisters. They sold their parents' home and the three of them
moved into Alexander's home above his shop. Gwendolyn spent the next two years helping out in the shop, but mostly spending her time in the back room, chucking
butcher knives at the meat. During those two years, Elizabeth and Will Turner became engaged, Jack Sparrow took back control of the Black Pearl, and Frances
gave birth to a baby boy named George.
Gradually, Gwendolyn became slightly depressed and lonely. Her heart was beginning to soften when she saw how much Frances was falling in love with Alexander each
and every day. Then there was Elizabeth and Will who were, basically, the perfect couple. All around her, love was abounding. Her emotions were bouncing from
bitterness to loneliness and back.
Then, one day, almost two years to the day after the Black Pearl was last seen, it appeared once more in Port Royal. This time Captain Jack Sparrow carried with him
a small, red leather book as he walked into the harbor town. He spotted Gwendolyn in the butcher's shop and asked for her name, trying to flirt. She refused to give it
to him and he left without a word more, off to pay a short visit to Will. That night, Gwendolyn took a midnight stroll toward the docks and three pirates from the Black
Pearl came up from behind her. One covered her mouth so she couldn't scream, but she managed to anyway. From her father's home in the distance, Elizabeth stepped
out onto her balcony with Will. They looked toward the docks and could see a female struggling as she was eventually pulled aboard the Black Pearl. They brought her
below deck and put her in one of the cabins.
At that moment, Jack Sparrow came out of his own chambers and to the main deck to announce they would set sail. As the ship began to sail away and out of the harbor
toward the moonlit ocean, he could hear several shouts coming from the direction of Port Royal. He noticed a small row boat that held Will and Elizabeth. They eventually
made it to the ship and were pulled aboard. They told him all about what they saw and as they all were plainly sailing into the ocean, Jack searched his ship and finally
heard the female cries. When he opened a door below deck and found Gwendolyn there, he was met with a bottle across his head and was knocked out.
When Jack came to, he noticed that a fog had formed and they couldn't see which way the harbor was anymore. Jack tried to apologize for his new crew members who
hadn't been with a woman in a long while. They all eventually sat around the table in his dining quarters and he showed them the book he picked up on his recent travels.
As soon as he read the inscription, which was in Sanskrit, a storm arose and it began to really rock the ship around. It ended up throwing them far off course. They basically
became lost and during their lost-ness, Jack began to take a liking to the Miss Gwendolyn Fox. She tried to ignore his gradual advances but as their voyage dragged on, but
she eventually warmed to his charms. With the four of them and a new crew, they eventually came face to face with another adventure against Barbossa and his crew.
After being thrown together romantically amidst the high seas adventures, Jack was forced to let Gwen go for her own safety and so that he could go after Barbossa without
having to worry about her well-being. Separated for two months time, Gwen found herself missing the mischievous pirate captain more than she could have originally imagined.
When he returned to Port Royal with Will Turner at his side, he set off to find Gwen, locating her on an upstairs balcony of the Swann estate. He climbed up by way of a tree and
brought her down toward the estate's edge with him, enjoying their reunion in a secluded grassy area.
But the reunion was cut short as the Red Devil rolled into the bay and took fire on Port Royal. Barbossa was in want to take away what Jack loved most. The older pirate captain's
crew set forth onto land and executed their attack by land and sea. Canon fire exploded, gunshots went off, swords were drawn. And Gwen was wounded a bullet from Barbossa's
pistol when she tried to protect Jack. Barbossa and his crew retreated, and Jack with help from Norrington took Gwen to the doctor's home where she could be tended to. They
learned then that she was pregnant, but the wound caused her to lose the baby. Due to further complications, she died for several moments until revived by means unknown.
Once she was out of the woods, Jack let her know he was leaving, never to return for her felt she would only be in harm's way were she to be by his side. Gwen was devastated when he
sailed away from Port Royal. She fell into a depression for months on end after he was gone, finding her only solace in the friendship she kept with Elizabeth, and even in Will as well.
It wasn't until nearly a year had passed that Gwen found she was getting over Jack. She welcomed the friendship Norrington provided as well, and found herself spending many
afternoons with him, taking long walks through town together. They were seated beside each other at several dinner parties, shared several dances at the few balls thrown in Port Royal.
And finally, one night, Norrington asked Gwen for her hand in marriage. After a full day of letting him hang with no answer, Gwen agreed to marry Norrington. Within a couple months
they were married and Gwendolyn Fox became Mrs. James Norrington.
She is now what appears to be a happily married woman. She worked hard at getting over Jack Sparrow, and plus, Norrington treats her well and always has. He's a gentleman
and provides her with the life she'd known all her life until her father's death nearly four years prior.
But what happens when she sees Jack again? Will all her hard work come undone? Will she come undone?
